   First time I used it, I made a basil pesto sauce. I loaded the work bowl with basil leaves, garlic cloves and pine nuts. It made quick work of chopping the ingredients. I added the olive oil and it reduced the ingredients to a smooth mixture. Last ingredient in was the Parmesan cheese, and it blended nicely. Then came the problem! I was unable to remove the work bowl from the base. I removed the lid first, as is required and I unplugged the device. No matter how I struggled, I could not turn the work bowl off the base. I finally resorted to using a mallet to whack the little handle on the work bowl. That did the trick. Not easy to use if I have to go to the garage for a hammer.

   After more than five years of use, our first Chopper developed cracks in the plastic blade housing. Although it still did the job, we thought it prudent to replace it, as we use it often. The new unit, aside from cosmetic changes seems just as reliable as the previous one. This unit has changed from a full handle on the bowl to a “lip” at the top. The previous design seemed better but not a deal-breaker.

   Had high hopes & was disappointed and could have been injured while using. The rubber grips do not keep this stable/ from moving on your countertop, the whole mechanism does not lock in and STAY locked in while in use-you will need to hold this the entire time and in multiple places if you’re grinding something like dates which is what I bought this for because cleaning a blender is a task. Basically, while grinding up dates the lid loosened off when I wasn’t holding it AND the container itself loosened as well so that mid grind I had to re-lock it in and gear that it would unlock again and all the while it smelled like burning due to the motor having to work so hard. Would not recommend and honestly I want my money back.
