The Cuisinart WM-SW2N1 has very useful LEDs. Of course, RED Power On also Green On when at temperature. But the Green LED goes off when a sandwich is inserted – then when the sandwich reaches temperature the Green LED turns on again. Eliminates opening to see if sandwich is done.
Cooking area is a little small, but great for grilled cheese with using regular white bread size.
Our last identical model lasted many, many years.

Works very well for something like a simple grilled cheese, but anything else that is thicker then a grilled cheese and you will have to man handle the thing to close and it feels like you’re about to break it in half. I had made a simple ham and cheese sandwich with this and closing it to make sure each side of the bread was nice and toasty would cause the melted cheese to leak out the back and into where the coil is. The sandwich was about an inch thick.
