   This review is from: Cuisinart CEG-980T Outdoor Electric Tabletop Grill (Lawn & Patio) We moved to a condo that does not allow gas grills on the deck. I researched many electric grills to see which one would meet our needs. After comparing reviews I decided to go with the Cuisinart mainly due to the brand. I have other Cuisinart products and have been impressed with the quality of their products. So far we have grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, brats and pork chops. We have been impressed with it grill. It takes up about 10 mins to heat up. When grilling it does put the grill lines in the meat. The meat cooks well but don’t check it often, because the grill does lose heat when you open the lid. This is not major, you just learn how to cook this way. The only negative about the grill and has been mentioned several times is the grease trap. It is very small and needs to be emptied after each use. I have had an overflow yet, but we take precautions by putting and rug under it when I grill. I do like the looks and the compact ability of the grill. I am very glad that I made the purchase. I recommend this grill for people in my situation that can’t have a gas or charcoal grill. You will still have the joy of cooking out.

   Very good electric bbq for sure! It heats well, i do all kind of steaks, new york strip, picanha, tomahawk, you name it. It is a challenge to clean, though. And if you leave dirty where the cord touch the heating element, it will stop working. I thought my grill was broken, and after a good clean started worked again flawlessly.

   I ordered a used one for $65, received two days later and assembled one and it looks like it’s brand new never been used, gets to 425° pretty, also I like the retractable leg stand, it’s pretty solid, the only thing it would be nice to have a thermometer, very happy update: unfortunately its not providing enough heat, will try to experiment with in a bit more, I would hate if I would have to clean it to send it back

   We have a small patio, so this is a perfect size.

   No issue with food not cooked properly but maybe it’s because the meat is thinly slice .

   I did lined this with heavy duty foil because I can tell it won’t be easy cleaning this grill. I’m glad I did.

   I do recommend placing aluminum tray at the bottom floor to catch some grease because the grease plate is too small and creates a mess when it over flows

   If I have any issues I’ll update but so far so good. Overall this grill is ok.

   I am a charcoal woman through and through, but since moving to Arizona, I have had to convert to electric. I tried the Foreman bbq grill and was nor impressed. So this time around I decided to do my homework and find the right grill. I can across this grill after looking to a few months, and decided to jump in and buy it. I had this guy overnighted and couldn’t wait to slap a few steaks and ribs on the Barbe. At first I was afraid it would not have that grill taste, but with the way the fat drips off the meat and vaporizes inside the grill, you do get a bbq taste. I add liquid smoke to my marinade to give it a charcoal flavor. I have bbq’d steak, chicken, veggies, and beef ribs on this little guy and they were all tasty! The clean up is a bit of a pain, but I find the Clorox wipes are the easiest to clean up after use. I would say that I would recommend this device!

   This was the perfect solution to having a little BBQ fun this summer. Not allowed to have non electric grills on high rise terraces so we can now have a burger, hot dog or anything grilled to perfection on this wonderful grill. Although it’s small enough for my terrace it has plenty of surface space to make dinner for four. I loved that I didn’t have any trouble assembling it into place and the clean up is a breeze. I love cuisinart products and have so many of them but this by far is my favorite.

    I love this little grill! Used it tonite for the first time. Grilled a fillet and even baked my take and bake loaf of bread on it. The steak was seared perfectly with grill marks and a little crispy on the edges and was so juicy it was perfect! Do not listen to those nay sayers. It makes a better steak than any gas grill or even charcoal grill. Juicy, and done to perfection. Loved baking the bread on it too. I just wish it was on taller legs of some kind. I kept mine table top size and put it on an outdoor metal table to cook on. Just the right height. Looking forward to grilling chops and a pork loin too. Bet it will make baked potatoes too. Heat it up really good and you are food to go. I also greased the grill which I always do anyway….Packing was ok..I bought a previously opened package and they could have done better on repackaging it to send it out again. They just put it in a bigger box with a piece of paper on top! Big deal. It luckily arrived ok with all the parts. I can see using it for up to 4 people if necessary. Very easy to put together bc it is already mostly together when you get it! One reason I bought this one. If I can do it anyone can!

    I like the ease of use and the way it folds up and can be tucked away afterwards. The drip pan is small, but that didn’t cause any problems for me. I have only used the grill twice and it really doesn’t get hot enough to sear a steak, which is what you want to keep in the juices. I haven’t cooked chicken or burgers on it yet, but the two steaks I did cook needed to be finished in my oven as it was taking way too long.

    I didn’t give it four or more stars as of right now, but it’s not a bad grill if you can’t have a gas grill. However, I think Cuisinart makes a gas version and for the price I paid, I wish I went with that one. Overall, it’s not a bad grill, but I would stick with gas/propane as electric just can’t compete for cooking temparatures.

    After three months thermostat failed and grill will only heat to a medium heat. Thermostat cycles on and off when when maximum is selected but heat is only medium. This is a common complaint. This grill is no longer manufactured. Warranty is useless.

    I was really excited to get this grill, it is small and easy to setup. Great for apartment or small place setting. It is electric. the grill space is ok. There are a couple of issues, the grill doesn’t heat as much as you think it should. it takes a long time for things like burgers and boneless chicken thighs to cook. It gets really hot but then looses its power. We have used multiple times and this happens every time. Hot dogs, great! the other issue is that is not as easy to clean up. there is a lot of buildup on the bottom and since it has the electric coils, which don’t remove, you can’t really clean the bottom of it properly.
    If you want to cook vegetables in a basket, they don’t really fit if you want to close the lid. I will give it a couple of more tries but I might have to upgrade to another brand as I do like the power of a grill.
