   I’ve had this blender for years. I just noticed it’s shedding plastic. I have no idea how long it’s been doing that, but although it still works, it’s going jnto the recycling.

   I bought this hand blender for soap making, and it very difficult to operate since you have to hold the lock button down and the speed button simultaneously so that the blades start running. For this, you have to use both hands, and even after the blades start running, they suddenly stop, and you have to unlock the device again. Since I use this hand blender with lye it is kind of dangerous having trouble operating and using both hands to start the blender. I wish there was a way to disable lock button for good

   The ONLY issue is the, it’s not great at food processing things like chicken or nuts. I used this to make Avocado pesto, PERFECT. Spinach/Basil pesto NOT SO MUCH. The leaves didn’t chop up well and the pine nuts were a not chopped well either. The stick part, SHEER PERFECTION for homemade mayo or whip cream or whatever you need to whip or blend using the stick. Have to update from 3 Start to 4 Star. PERFECTION at making mayo and Yum Yum sauce. 9-4-16 This is how I now use it now, for small things I need chopped aka processed like nuts, I put maybe 1/4 a cup and it works fine. Still not great with leaves or meats but I did purchase a bigger food processor. I make a lot of Pesto and do the nuts first in the with the Smart Stick. They come out finer than using the bigger one. Also any small item I need chopped fine I use it. I make White (Yum Yum) Sauce sometimes and and the whisk attachment is perfect. These are some of the items I make regularly and the Smart Stick is very useful just have to know what it’s best for and how to work with it.

   power switch far too hard to hold for prolonged periods that are often required when mixing whipping ingredients. I expected more from Cuisinart

   First off, this is a 120 V hand blender, so for the folks in the other countries do check if you need a voltage converter for this to function. Most countries are either 120 V or 240 V. Also for the voltage converter you would need one that is compatible with your wattage. I.e the maximum watt of this hand blender is 200W, so you need a voltage converter of at least 200W but not too high either. However even with my 300W converter I couldn’t pulse it on and off for more then 3 minutes before my voltage converter got too hot and tripped on me. To be fair, I’m not too sure which of the equipment is giving me the problem here. As for the grinder/chopping function, im not too sure if I just have insufficient amount of shrimps or biscuits to grind, or if it just cannot get to the fine-ness that I’m looking for! After grinding for a couple of rounds (restarting after my converter trips), there are still chucks of shrimps that cannot be ground finely. I’ve tried using both the sharp and grind edge of the blade, but results are still similar. For smoothies, it works fine churning fruits into creamy froths (:
