Ridiculous amount of money even for food grade plastic. Did it solve our problem, yes. Once again Cuisinart has purposely designed something that fails prematurely and cannot be replaced. You are basically paying $50 for a spring. They could offer the replacement part, but instead decide to gouge the consumer. When this one fails, it will be a new coffee maker > from a different manufacturer.
