   I have been looking for a dual-purpose blender/food processor for a while. Even though the Cuisinart BFP-603 SmartPower Deluxe only has a rather small food processor bowl, I have still decided to buy this model as it seemed the best currently available at this price level. I have so far only used the blender for making smoothies and blending soups, and I’m very satisfied. It’s very powerful and I only need to blend for 10-20 seconds to achieve the desired result. The blender jar is thick glass, so ideal for blending soups (after leaving them to cool for a few minutes). The machine is very easy to use, and easy to assemble. It also looks great in the kitchen.

   this unit failed , the chopper bearings fail under slight usage
   this grinder/chopper unit that comes with this blender is garbage , the bearings in the chop assembly failed after shredding hard cheese . The motor over heats very easy as well so a prolonged chopping /blending will cause the motor to stop & stay locked up for 6 or more hours . This blender & chopper is a waste of money . Stay away ! I was making salad dressing (oil & vinegar type) & the motor would over heat after 3 minutes of blending .

   I bought this machine 3 years ago. I like that it is easy to clean, and does a good job of processing small quantity of food. I have a large food processor for larger jobs. I’ve been using this one mainly to make smoothies in the blender, and to slice and julienne potatoes and apples with the processing disk. I have used the processing blade very little. A couple of weeks ago I tried to pure a cooked beet, and noticed a crack in the white plastic holding the processor blade, the length of its radius. I emailed Cuisinart asking for a replacement of the blade. I got no response. When I called on the phone, I was told that this model is not being recalled, and because the 3 year warranty run out a few days ago, it is the company’s protocol not to make a replacement. I am afraid that if the crack was not stained by the beet juice, I would not have noticed it, and using the food processor could have resulted in a disaster. I think that the machine is fine, except for the quality of the plastic holding the processor blade, but I am very disappointed with Cuisinart’s bad consumer service and lack of responsibility for the safety of its product.    I purchased this for myself a year ago so that I can make smoothies and shakes. I wanted the food processor to help with making sauces and dips when cooking. So far I haven’t had any problems and I absolutely love it. I don’t use the food processor as much but it was great from some dips. The blender I used practically every day to make smoothies or frozen drinks and its so easy to use. It chops up the ice perfectly and does a great job with the rest of the fruits and vegetables I always use it with. The cleaning is relatively easy. When I moved I had to pack my things away. My mom’s blender broke and I told her this was a good replacement since I used it almost every day for my drinks. She likes to use it for blending sauces and I can continue making the smoothies. She loves it.

   I have only used the blender to make shakes/smoothies. Like other reviewers have said, it is very loud, but it doesn’t jump all over the counter, it stays in one place. After a couple of tries, I learned that I needed to blend a little longer so the ice can be chopped up. It cleans up very easily.

   I have now used this blender daily for the past 6 months and am still very happy with it.

   We bought this, because I just loved the idea of having the food processor and the blender on the same base. Big mistake!
   The food processor doesn’t work and neither does the blender. The food processor doesn’t have enough strength and the blender always leaves my juices lumpy. The only positive thing is that the blender jar is a very sturdy good size glass.
   Overall I would not recommend it.
