   I really like that this microwave lid collapses for storage, however, I have found that it is pretty difficult to pop all the way out to use in the microwave. It seems to want to stop popping before the last ridge is expanded. My husband found that it works best if he pops it open by hitting it on the top of his head! He holds it on both sides and brings it down on the top of his head. I don’t like the idea of his hair germs attaching to the inside of the lid, though! The lid does collapse nicely and it is really nice being able to slide it in between my upright cookie sheet holders in my cupboard for storage. It takes up little space that way. The lid works well in the microwave once you have it popped out all the way. It is nice and big so it will cover a full plate of food with no problem. I purchased the large size so it would go all the way around our dinner plates and it works well for that. I just wish it wasn’t so difficult to pop out fully!

   I previously owned a medium sized Tovolo splatter cover. The medium cover covers the food on the plate but sits on the edge of the plate. I thought I’d try the larger diameter, but I feel it’s too large. Every plate I’ve tried, the large size covers completely and sits on the microwave turn table. The downsides are that it’s so big it’s difficult to get out of the microwave when covered in steam. Additionally, it’s very big and difficult to fit in the dishwasher when expanded.
   Otherwise, the product functions as expected and advertised. Tovolo silicone doesn’t smell even after the first use, unlike competitors.

   I’ve subsequently bought another medium sized cover.

   Call me silly but I like that I can leave it in the microwave and it looks like it matches! Lol. It’s the perfect size, and it is high enough that it covers the food. I love that it can be put in the dish washer.

   Got this as second (like new), but it was clearly used a bit when I received it. It heats food really but occasionally gets lopsided cause it’s a tad too wide. Could use a little more headroom.

   I was about to come and leave a less than five star review, but I checked with ChatGPT to make sure I was either right or wrong. I had no idea that these microwave covers are supposed to sit on the plate not on the turntable. This one sits on the plate. I didn’t think that was correct but apparently I am wrong. It is supposed to sit on the plate it has warmed my food so far perfectly and when I lift it, I can see the steam coming out. It is easy to use and I liked that it is compact.

    Overall, this does what it is intended to do. I love that it collapses for storage purposes. However, the handle does not stay on and continually pops off. So when I want to pop open the container, the detachable handle comes off. I pretty much have to pop it up without the handle. I tried using super glue to keep it in place. That was unsuccessful.

    This collapsible microwave plate cover is exactly what I was looking for at about 1/3 the cost of others I considered. I bought it to use in my RV where space saving is a must and it doesn’t disappoint for that.

    There are a few things I’m not crazy about, though. First the vent holes in the top are pretty large and there’s a lot of them so occasionally food splatters right through them. Second, its not real easy to open. It likes to catch halfway open and I have to awkwardly try to hold the edge while pushing the inside of the top. Because of how it sticks halfway open makes me question how long the pop up sides will last before cracking or splitting. The top and bottom rim are a fairly heavy plastic that should last forever.

    None of these are deal breakers, though. For the price and the fact I bought if forms RV where it won’t get year round daily use I’m happy with the lid.
