   This is not shaved ice, but I still like it a lot. I bought this for my son’s 11th birthday last month. I had rented one 2 yrs ago for his party and decided to just by one for the same price as renting one this year. This model is stylish, easy to use, easy to clean, and I love the fold down holders. We have used it at least 2-3 times a week since purchasing. Side tips, make your own syrup, 1 packet of Kool-Aid, 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water. Bring to boil, cool, then pour into plastic squeezable condiment bottle from dollar tree, they come 2 to a pack. They also have cute ice cream bowls that work great for snow cones! Last tip, the longer the ice sits in the container the better it holds its shape.

   Not a fan of the plastic handle feels like it could break. Snow comes out fluffy some long pieces but it’s alright! I made 4 cups for my kiddos not any one of them complained about the ice it’s like shaved ice actually! I love the plastic reusable cups! Love everything els also it’s not loud my blender is actually louder than this snow cone machine :)! Packaging was amazing everything came safely wrapped! I definitely recommend this product especially for summer time! I have a 1 year old who I shared my snow cone with and she loved it as well ice is 1 year old approved 🙂 I bought this machine due to my husband making bbq every Sunday and while the kiddos play outside snow cone machine is perfect for cooling off 🙂

   I bought this from cuisinartoutlets.com in May 2025, and I really love : -that the container can be easily pulled out. – the machine stops when you open the chute and put in ice – it doesn’t have a burning smell even on the first time you use it. BUT: – it is true that the shaved ice are not like snow, they are a bit big, I don’t know if it is because of the size of the ice that is being used or it’s because of the gaps between the two blades. – you cannot push the lever too hard becoz maybe the other edge might give after doing it so often. – it is plastic I hope Cuisinart can make improvements on this item like: – modify that part that shaves the ice, it is made of hard plastic, they should make it stainless steel – make the gap between the blades smaller so the shaved ice will be like snow – remove or close the gap at the end of that chute so unshaved ice will not get through. So that’s it , I hope this helps anyone planning to buy this item. 😅

    Works easy and well. Can do several servings at once. Only real part to clean is the clear plastic box that holds the ice after shaved. Can do an ice cube tray full of ice at a time. Then easily add another and then another til quantity required. safety feature, won’t work if handle that pushes ice down to blades is out of the chute. Will only work when handle is pressed down in closed position to shave the ice.

    What’s not to love about this machine 😉 1. Bag of ice in less than 20 minutes (about 8-10 snow cones) 2. Pure snow 3. Drawer opens easily 4. Scoop works perfectly 5. Easy clean and forget Fiancé needed a replacement as she gives the kiddos in the neighborhood cones for several years. We now have it at the campsite, soon to be a airbnb. The size compact enough not to be an eyesore. I am sure it will be a welcomed favorite and utilized. P.S. for “adulting purposes”, excellent margaritas!

    This snow cone machine is compact, cute, and all plastic 🤔 I was hoping to let my grandbabies help me make some snow cones but honestly the handle seems to fragile and I’m afraid they will break it. I wish it would be more sturdy. When I put the ice and press the handle down the whole thing shakes 😳😳😳 the handle seems to be kind of fragile. I’m just hoping it will last a while since my grandbabies love snow cones so much as you can see on their faces 😁 The snow is not as fluffy as I was hoping for. Overall the machine does the job but I think eventually I will get a bigger, sturdier and better one.
