Ordered this as a replacement to the exact same model that wouldn’t reach boiling but would continuously simmer at 205-207 deg. indefinitely (I timed this and finally shut it off after 20 minutes). Both kettles took water from 70 deg. to 205 deg. F in just under 8 minutes, then held that 205 deg. despite being set for 212 F/Boil mode. They both spent 12-13 minutes at 205 deg. and never got hotter. I tested the water at several times with a Thermapen One (highly accurate and specific instant-read thermometer) and it read 207 deg. in both kettles, so at least they are consistent. I called Cuisinart’s Tech Support who explained that the CPK-20 was a “club model” they produced for Bed, Bath & Beyond and that after B,B &B’s bankruptcy restructuring, have made it into cuisinartoutlets.com’s market. Cuisinart has no troubleshooting info for it nor any records of returns. He explained that this is because any defective kettles would have been returned directly to Bed, Bath & Beyond under their warranty claim policies. He recommended returning these to cuisinartoutlets.com and replacing it with the CPK-17P1, which is the current equivalent model Cuisinart produces for the general consumer market.

I bought 20 of these Cuisinart PerfecTemp Kettles as team gifts and even had them laser engraved. Everyone loves them! The kettle heats water quickly with its 1500-watt power, and the six preset temperatures are perfect for different types of tea and coffee. The cordless design and swivel base add great convenience, and the stay-cool handle is a nice touch. Highly recommend for anyone in the US looking for a reliable and versatile kettle!

We heat water quickly for tea, broth, and occasionally to make jello. It is very versatile and convenient. Otis also attractive and not bulky on the countertop. We use it almost daily. We also take it with us on vacation for convenience with hot drinks

Though expensive, this kettle is attractive and well built. It performs well and fits well in our contemporary decor. I have not tried all the different functions yet. I suspect the kettle may be over-engineered for daily use. But we like it nevertheless.

I’ve been using this pot for around 2 months and the only complaint is that is heats to 5 degrees lower than what I set it for. It’s not a problem since I know to expect it and set it up 5 degrees higher. If I reset it it will come up to the desired temp so there are a few workarounds but overall I’m satisfied with it.
