   This boils the water so quickly and easy to clean.

   Sometimes I have to cheat, when I dont have time… making Greek coffee (Ellinikos Kafes) (Loumidis or Bravo) I will boil the water in this then pour in my briki, stir while continuing to heat then pour. Best with Koulourakia!

   Ok ok.. I know, but it’s only when in a hurry! Otherwise it’s perfect for tea and hot chocolate. I hardly use my kiureg anymore!

   Also great when making jello or other deserts needing boiling water. (Way better than a microwave – and never Greek coffee in microwave!)

   Stop looking at it and buy it!

   Update (4/22, 4 years later): ————————————- It’s actually holding up quite well after four years of daily use comprised of heating up water for my siphon coffee pot and nightly sleep teas. The numbers have pretty much rubbed off the prefixed temperature buttons but after years of routine I just push the same buttons and haven’t noticed. I can always refer to the images here if I need a reminder for lapse in memory. Also, I never use it to boil water for coffee and teas as that negatively impacts the taste of my coffees and teas. The kettle is as beautiful and stylish as the day I got it. There’s a tiny bit of lime scale at the bottom of the kettle as a result of not routinely rinsing it with a lime scale remover. Think I ran vinegar through it only once. I highly recommend this kettle. Rating upgraded from four to five stars as a result of it’s longevity and quality. Original review: ———————– I’ll have to follow up with a follow up review. A couple of points: * Not as heavy as I had imagined based on the reviews (male in my late 30s) * Initially a little concerned about the buttons on the kettle itself which might get wet from washing. Curious if any of the failures people are reporting have anything to do with this part getting wet. I’ll pay cautious attention to this. * Heats up really fast and beats having to watching my old tea pot in getting the right temperature for green tea. Think I’ve almost burn myself a few times popping open the lids to gauge temperature. * Operates at 1500 watts. I would have settled for 1000 but wouldn’t get the quick heat up. * Plastic / poly-blah-blah-blah parts. None of the pictures show exactly where the plastic parts are. The product video barely flashes the internal of the kettle to disclose how much of it is plastic. None of the other kettles seem to show the internals as well. This is a sticking point and I hope by next year they will have come up with a better engineering design to eliminate the need for any plastic parts. As it stands today all of the variable temperature kettle at least use some plastics for sealing the lid for a better seal. All in all I’m satisfied with the purchase. I went through several options to the Pino, Chef’s Choice, Breville, and Adagio. The Pino doesn’t seem to be well built with the cheap looking digital readout along with complaints of rusting (that’s unacceptable). Chef’s Choice didn’t offer anything over the Cuisinart with it’s bigger price tag (still has the plastic water gauge but looks to come in direct contact with the water). I’m not sure if the Breville is bpa free or not. Either way, I don’t care for the design where the water gauge is part of the water container. With the Cusinart the water is separated from the water gauge somewhat and the exposure is reduced. The way the water gauge works is that there’s a tube in the bottom that moves the gauge up through water pressure. Adagio is coming out with a new kettle but that’s not for a few months and their previous kettle had issues. Lots of consumers seem to have had issues with their previous model (as they noted on their web site even). The new kettle from Adagio looks pretty attractive from the web pictures however. With all that in mind, the round up choice is this Cuisinart. Let’s see how it holds up. For those curious I’ll be posting photos of the internals of the kettle so you know exactly where the plastic parts are. I removed the plastic screen filter so that won’t be shown.

   Love this! I was on the fence between a standard tea kettle vs electric. I reviewed a bunch before deciding on this. Works as claimed and my jasmine and green teas are so much better! I also drink lots of herbal teas. This heats water very fast! The temp control is fabulous. I knew temps should be lower for my teas, but was too impatient to let the boiling water cool for long and grew accustomed to bitter green teas. No more! Huge difference if you are a tea lover like me. The water gauge and swivel are also very nice features. While the “stay warm” feature holds temp for only 30-minutes, I have found the water stays hot for a good long time. If you have to reheat at all, only takes a few seconds. I don’t understand complaints about noise. It only makes noise when it is really close to temp—the sound of steam building in the kettle—not the actual device. Not a big deal at all and short-lived. I also don’t understand cleaning complaints. If I end up with hard water deposits, vinegar and a brush will work. I use filtered RO water for my tea, so shouldn’t be an issue. These are not designed to cook tea—and why would you? Tea (even black) is not meant to be boiled and cooked. A tea “pot” is for steeping. A tea “kettle” is for heating water. I would never do both in the same vessel. The “filter” is in case you have sediment in your water—not intended for actually brewing tea—although it looks like some people do. I have a separate glass teapot I use for actual brewing, so this is perfect. This is a little heavy when filled to max, but not unmanageable. I only fill to 1.5L (shoulder issue) rather than max and it is plenty of water and easy to handle. Love it! Hopefully, it lasts. If I have any issues, I will amend my review. I will add, I have a Cuisinart steam/bake toaster oven and also love that. Have had for a couple years now, use it a lot and NO issues. I sent another brand back that was inferior. So I am thinking this is a high-quality product. If it goes bad out of warranty, I will happily purchase another as I appreciate a good quality product and have used the heck out of it.

   Idk how it started, but I seem to have a “thing” for kettles, and have more than I’d care to admit. As each of my kids leaves home, the first thing they’d take was one of my kettles. They use them to make coffee, tea, mashed potatoes, and ramen noodles in their dorm. I love cooking and canning, and have found so many uses for this kettle. It’s nice to look at, easy to use….even in the dark, and cuts time and valuable prep space when canning. Also great at sterilizing utensils and jars. I like the weight of it….doesn’t feel flimsy or will easily tip over like other kettles when the cord gets bent/twisted. The “keep warm” feature is convenient too. Bottom line, this is my new favorite kettle due to it’s size and different temp settings for making various tea blends. If you’re on a budget and only need it to boil water, this would be an overkill, IMO. Lots of much cheaper alternatives on here for that. However, if you find the temp and keep warm options helpful, this is a solid piece of equipment I highly recommend.

   I received this as a gift for my birthday from my family, and I really love all the settings, and it is not as quiet as I thought it would be, but it’s not super loud and it does boil the water so quickly that the loudness is over really fast anyway. The only thing is, it is a little awkward to fill, and you have to fill it to the max line, if you go over the max line, it won’t even start the process of boiling, it will just blink at you. As long as you don’t go above, the max fill line, it will work perfectly. Also, when you click the warm button, it will keep it warm for about an hour, and then it will shut itself off. I’m not thrilled about that, I’d rather it keep it warm until I turn it off manually. It was a little bit of a learning curve to figure out how to get it to work, because it is quiet when it first starts out boiling, and then gets loud. So, at first, I was pushing buttons all over the place trying to get it to work, and then realize that it was working. It was just too quiet for me to hear it. And then gets really loud, and then shut off quickly. it’s also difficult to fill, and it’s very heavy. So it gets even heavier when you fill it with water. If anybody were to get this, who has arthritis, or joint problems with the wrists, or weak arms, I would not recommend this one. Are used to be able to fill up my electric kettle with just one hand, I have to use both hands, and I’m not a weakling, but I do have wrists that sometimes ache. So, I have to use two hands to fill up this kettle. Overall though, it works very very well, I’m excited to have something new and I am hoping with the price, my family paid for this, and the brand, that it will last a very long time. My old kettle was around for many years before I finally broke down, and it was very simple, only had one setting, which was to boil, but it works just fine for me, and it was very light weight. However, they don’t make it anymore. But I’m happy with this one overall. Update: I was reaching past the kettle the day before last and my arm barely touched it and got a third degree burn. The app won’t let me share the fresh pics but I took a pic of the scar now. I’ve touched hot kettles before by accident but none ever burned me like this. There should be a caution sticker or imprint or really a temp regulator for the outside. I am shocked, honestly.

   I just found my instruction booklet and receipt for this which I bought in November of 2014. It’s now July of 2025. I am amazed that I have used this “kettle” for over 10 years!! It works as well as it did in the first year! I love the fact that it has six different temperature settings. I can fix a cup of tea and drink it right away. I don’t have to burn my mouth because it was boiling water. It has a boil-dry protection feature just in case and I like the fact that it also has an automatic shut off feature as well. It will continue to keep the set temperature for 30 minutes, then shuts off. The handle stays cools and I can set the hot pot down off of the power base without it burning my counter tops. What a great appliance! I have used it almost daily since I have owned it and it has been very dependable. I would highly recommend it to everyone!

   I thought about this kettle for months before I finally bought it, and boy, am I glad I did. After a lot of research, I found that stainless steel was a better option for me than glass, and although I could get a kettle for a lot less money, that’s money that might be wasted. The CPK-17 is easy to fill, heats water quickly, and offers preset temperatures, so you get the right water temperature for your needs. It’s attractive and not too big for the countertop.

    This has so many incredible features I love! A different setting for each type of tea and temperature, a button to keep the water hot, and a really cool stainless steel design. As long as you don’t have hard water it’ll look great for a long time. I find it sturdy and robust. Perhaps heavy for some people if it’s full. I also love the button to open the lid easily. Couldn’t be better! I’m so pleased with this purchase. It was pricey but I don’t regret it at all.

    UPDATE: I am updating this review after discovering a dangerous flaw with this kettle. The kettle is supposed to shut off automatically when it boils, and it usually does, but every couple of weeks it just doesn’t, and just continues to boil, even though all lights are off. Luckily I’ve been home every time this has happened, and so I unplugged it to turn it off. Even lifting it off the base doesn’t turn it off, as it just starts boiling again when you put it down. If it was left like this, the water would all boil away, and since the kettle thinks it’s already off, I’m not sure what would happen at that point. It has a feature that turns it off when there’s no water in it, but that works when its on, and I’m not sure if it would work when it thinks it’s off. I reported this to Cuisinart customer service but other than offering me a 20% discount on a new one, didn’t seem to be too concerned. I had high hopes for this kettle, as it had some features I wanted, but in usage its not all that great, and the durability is poor. The first issue was the warning sound it makes when it boils, a critical feature. Its pretty much inaudible, 3 beeps from a circuit board mounted device that can’t even be heard over the boiling water its so quiet. Since it auto shuts off once boiling, you end up walking over to it to check on it, and then have to restart it and wait for 30 seconds as it reboils. As well, all the lettering from the buttons wears away within a few weeks, and now my lid has failed, and won’t open when I hit the button, so I have to pry it open with my fingernails. The lid can’t be removed for cleaning inside. There is also some kind of dark stain on the bottom of it even though its only ever had tap water in it. Not sure what this brown stuff is but given all the other issues, this is not a kettle I would recommend, and now I have to buy another kettle after spending a lot of money on this one. I have Milwaukee power tools that cost less and have a 5 year warranty, so I’m not sure why Cuisinart can’t do a little better.

    Fantastic kettle. Great design, a wide range of choice temperatures, stainless steel interior. I’ll let the others speak for those. This is the best electric kettle on the market without exceptions. But you can make it better, and the next version of it could use a few changes: 1) Totally eliminate all plastic components that contact the water. The scale filter is removable. Thats in the product literature. But the scale filter bracket is plastic, and it still touches the water when you pour it. It also messes up the flow of the water. Fortunately, that can also be removed! There is a single screw that attaches it to the wall of the kettle with a hex nut. Unscrew it with a pair of pliers and it’s done. Be sure to remove the hex nut and the two washers – you dont want to be swallowing those by accident. I’ve attached pictures of the removed bracket. In the future, this kettle would benefit greatly from a metal scale filter and bracket that can be totally removed. Fortunately, once you remove the scale filter bracket, it pours like a dream. The lexan water height meter leeches BPA. That is a damned shame about this kettle. And the water there gets HOT. This should be made out of glass, or simply removed totally. If you want to know how much water is in the kettle, you can open it! Look, I agree it’s pretty, and it reflects blue light when theres water in there, but it’s unhealthy. Health is more important than the little lexan window! And it’s pretty enough already! Bottom line – remove the window completely. Put markers on the inside of the kettle indicating the volume if you must. This lexan meter is a real spoiler. Finally, the silicone nubs. I don’t care if people think they are safe, get them out. You dont need a silicone nub to measure the temperature of the water, and you should take out the nubs related to the water level window. Fixed. 2) The kettle is a pain to carry for long distances. There is no handle to hold the weight of the kettle from the top. So if you have to walk with a full kettle for more than a few feet, it’s rough on the wrist, because you’re holding it from the side. And you can only hold it one handed. There should be a long rotating handle over the top that can fold down out of the way when not needed, but can be used to carry the kettle from above. Again, we can see the product designer getting in the way of a proper device. Sure, you want clean and modern. But a little old lady cant walk very far with these things, and a rigid swiveling handle that rotates down under the pour spout would also let someone hold the weight with one hand while pouring with the other. How is that little old lady going to have her tea parties now? 3) The stainless steel exterior is great, but (a) it’s a fingerprint magnet, and (b) it gets too hot. For (a), the exterior should be clearcoated. We see lots of clearcoat stainless steel appliances today, and they are good with the fingerprints. not perfect, but good. Also, they feel much nicer than the metal. For (b) make the kettle’s walls double layered stainless steel with air in between. This will allow it to retain heat longer. Also, it wont damage the clearcoat. The kettle is not too large, and it could reasonably be made slightly larger in order to permit a double layer. Also, you dont need the fill guage, so the double layered walls arent stopping anything. 4) The pour spout is FANTASTIC once you eliminate the scale filter. Do not mess with that!
