   I purchased this coffee maker in June 2024 and LOVED it for 10 months… until it started shutting off before completing to brew the coffee, leaving water in the tank and only a little coffee. I’ve been cleaning it regularly since I purchased it and attempted to clean it but the same thing happens. I’ve only had CuisinArt coffee makers for decades and they last for years and years. Is it common for this particular model to stop working within a year?
   Update: After contacting Cuisinart about the issue, they are sending me a replacement so we will have to wait and see if it can work for more than 10 months. I hope so because I really do love this coffee maker!

   Piece of junk! There is a charge for product support ,whether or not the charge is returned; I don’t know, didn’t get that far. Grinder motor quit working after about year after purchase!
   After writing this review I called customer support with the number provided on cuisinartoutlets.com (as alast resort) and they honored their warranty. Cuisinart is shipping me a replacement.

   The grinder is quite noisy, but does a good grind, you can bypass it and use pre ground coffee, carafe is heavy and well made to coffee hot, especially if you preheat it with hot water before making coffee. Need to clean everything, including grinder , each use. But bottom line, it’s the coffee more than the machine, better beans, better coffee.

   I loved the stainless steel carafe that came with the unit. It kept the coffee nice and hot for an extended period of time. I also thought the unit brewed a good cup of coffee. But I quickly grew tired of the cleaning ritual that needed to be performed after each brewing. In my opinion the design is a bit convoluted, and adds a lot of effort to the cleaning effort. In addition to the regular brew basket the unit also has a chamber for grinding the beans and a channel for moving the beans from the chamber to the basket. During the brewing cycle, the hot water flows thru the chamber to the channel which directs the grounds to the basket. When the brewing has completed, this entire assembly needs to be removed and cleaned because a fair amount of grounds don’t make it to the brew basket and remain in the chamber and channel. The delayed brewing options worked fine, but it would have been nice to have a bean reservoir with a selector switch for the amount of beans to use for the brewing process instead of having to measure out the amount of beans needed for each brewing session.

   Was impossible to find a programmable “grind and brew in one” coffeemaker that had a thermal carafe as well as burr grinder. Seemingly Breville is the only company that makes such a beast but after owning two of theirs that didn’t hold up over time (ridiculous, considering the price point) I went with an old faithful Cuisinart. Simple to operate, makes only 10 cups and sounds like a jet engine in your kitchen when it grinds….but does it all correctly, consistently each time. Cleanup is easy but just takes a few minutes after each brew as the design purposely (not a design or mfgr defect) vents stem back into the grind chamber after shooting grounds into filter for brewing. Odd design but WTH, it still makes a great pot. Wish it made more than 10 cups but not the end of the world.

    Finally replaced an old industrial coffee maker when it began to leak. Decided on Cuisinart because I own other appliances made by them. First its big.. almost too big for my little kitchenette. Impossible to use the carafe to pour water into the chamber in a tight area. Plus you have no way of measuring how much water is in the carafe until you pour the water in. Then you can visually see a measuring stick built into the water chamber. So, I’m using an old carafe that I can measure water from. The charcoal filter is weird. If you are using filtered water, then you may want to ignor this entire process. Plus booklet states to replace every 60 days? But they only give you a single filter. The brewing process is fast and I hate that once the coffee cycle is completed the unit auto shuts off. That means you have to depend on the coffee staying hot inside the stainless carafe. Ifs its more than an hour, hit brew with grinder off and it will restart the unit. I can’t figure out how to keep the unit on! Hard to clean but most are. You can remove the part holding the permanent filter or disposable paper filters to clean as well as the bean holder. The instructions where when the clean light goes on sounds like a nightmare so have a bottle of white vinegar on standbye always. My first two brews with a dark Columbian premiim roast were adequate. Cannot adjust temperature and instructions about using hot water is confusing. Grinder is not as loud as others but it will wake the dead on a Sunday morning. A bit overpriced but you get to auto grind whole beans so I’m giving it 4stars. Looks high tech, brushed chrome and black with Cuisinart logo embossed on front. Lastly, cycle for regular and grind brewing is superfast so waiting for that first cup of java is going to make you happy. ENJOY!

    I just received my 10-Cup Cuisinart Grind/Brew and I love it!! Who needs Starbucks when you can easily grind your own beans fast and have a delicious cup of HOT coffee when you want it and the smell of the fresh coffee is so nice! I love the thermal craft, it keeps the coffee very hot. I don[‘t even mind cleaning it because the coffee is so wonderful! It just makes me so happy to have this coffee maker, sometimes its the small things in life that make us feel good! Yep!

    Great tasting coffee but the design is horrible. I would not buy again if I had to replace this coffee maker. It is a fantastic looking coffee maker. The coffee taste good, but probably related to the type of beans or ground coffee you use. I found that I cannot clean the thermal carafe. My hand does not fit into the top of the serving carafe because the design opening is so small. So, cleaning it is a REAL problem. Also, my biggest complaint the automatic grinder which I felt was a selling point when purchasing, is COMPLETELY wrong in its design. When the coffee brews, the grinder gets completely wet with condensation. When the grind is complete all the remnants of the bean grind are wet. Note, it does say to clean the grinder after every use. But I find the condensation is so bad that I don’t even want to use the built-in grinder.

    This Cuisinart grind and brew is the best for making coffee with just ground beans or already ground. I prefer the stainless-steel carafe. I have been utilizing this model–(don’t like the fancy new grinder)–with this simple grinder for over 15 years. Can’t beat it and I am a long-time coffee lover and drinker. The machine is easy to use and maintain. Reasonably priced and last a good while. You can set it up and forget it until the timed brew kicks in. Wonderful to wake up in the morning with the smell of freshly brew coffee.
