   It looks decent, comes packaged well. On first use, we noticed that it failed to toast evenly. We used bread similar to the picture provided and it couldn’t even get close. The top started to smoke and set off the smoke alarm. The bottom was basically un-touched. On the 2nd use, it released and it fell off its tracks and didn’t bring the food to the top. The sides of the toaster could catch paper on fire and it’s very clunky and cheap feeling. Really sad that this is the price it is…

   This toaster has lovely looking setting, but to toast my sourdough bread it must be set at the highest setting and then it must go down twice. Then it will burn along one edge.
   I have sent a note to Cuisinart about the toaster’s problems and have no response in 2 weeks. This will be last product from Cuisinart I purchase.

   This unit replaced a brutal Sunbeam toaster that couldn’t do the only thing a toaster is supposed to do. Afterwards the Sunbeam ‘service’ group also dropped the ball and sent me the wrong replacement product twice then quit answering my emails. Still waiting for the return authorization email for the replacements too.

   Anyway…..so far the Cuisinart toasts perfectly though it’s all metal and gets quite hot to the touch. Looks decent enough on the counter too. Unfortunately it’s a US purchase sent to Canada with an instruction booklet that disavows ANY warranty coverage outside the United States. A US customer should have no reservations about purchasing this product from my observations so far but for non-US buyers I guess it’s up to you.

   The two slots are at least 10 inches long and each slot is wide enough to fit bagels and English Muffins—can toast two at a time!! And my beloved Mountain Bread fits beautifully! What ever your choice of toast color is accommodated. I started with #4 and went from there.
   The Toaster is very attractive. I’ve always kept toasters in the cabinet but this toaster is very long so decided to keep it on the counter. Took a while to find a home for it as I don’t have a lot of counter space but looks as though it is right at home. I just love it! Haven’t enjoyed a purchase so much in a long time. Thank you Cuisinart—another success for your engineering and attention to style!

   This thing is a real piece of crap. You can _feel_ how cheaply made it is. It won’t toast your bread evenly – you’ll have a black rim and an uncooked center/bottom, and no the reverse side won’t match. The lever to lift the toast out requires 2 hands, one for the lever and one to hold the unit in place, because the thing is so crappy and light that you can’t actually lift the bread out without lifting up the whole unit. Or you could use 1 hand and brace against the frame, but you’ll just burn your thumb doing that. Unsure if this was just our unit or if it’s a feature of this model, but ours had a horrendous burning plastic smell that hasn’t fully dissipated. There’s nothing inside to remove, it just seems to be burning its own internals.

   The appearance of the product is nice…a bit flimsy…but nice looking. The reason I have returned three of these to Cuisinart is because it doesn’t toast regular sliced bread. My first call to Cuisinart (who has wonderful customer support) the rep said that the toaster must be defective. The second toast broke with the first press of the lever. The third toaster also did not toast the bread…it only did so when i put TWO slices of bread into just one side of the toaster. Some toasters that are made to toast bagels AND bread are a problem because the cavity for the bread is too large. Regular bread can’t get close enough to the heat element. I should have paid better attention to the reviews…it’s not very well made either. My previous Sunbeam toaster was beautiful, very sturdy and worked….I had it for 30 years…they don’t make them like that anymore.

   I love boules breads so I finally decided to get a long slice toaster. What a joy to start the morning with two slices of toast, without having to cut the slices in half or cut off side pieces so the bread fits in the slots. This toaster is the best thing I’ve bought in a long time. Yes, it does seem like an extravagance to spend this much on a toaster, but it is so worth it. In fact, I just ordered another one as a Mother’s Day gift for my daughter. It is long (no surprise) – just shy of 18″ lengthwise – so measure your countertop space before ordering. I suppose some purists would say it doesn’t toast evenly, but it toasts evenly enough for me. And maybe it’s not the “fault” of the toaster, but the varying thickness of the slice.

    Photo is one of the better results from this $60 toaster. Doesn’t matter what type of bread, fresh or frozen, or what settings are selected. Went through half a loaf trying everything, even flipping and rotating slices. Only cooks the edges and leaves the rest uncooked.

    I was disappointed with this toaster, I expected more from this brand but since my son took my old toaster I kept it. This toaster does not toast the bread evenly. I have tried lots of the settings and still it gets so dark in places and barely toasts in others. Save your money and try another one. Picture is of toast on setting 3 – it goes to 7. Imagine what 7 would looks like? Almost burnt on the bottom at 3.

    A couple months ago my girlfriend and I decided to take the leap into large format breads. Jewish rye was our first but we needed to toast the bread twice since only half of it would make it into our toaster. We loved our old toaster with the digital display for the settings and time remaining to toast, but it was starting to burn out after nearly 10 years. That’s when we decided to replace it with this model. Sure, we lost the digital display and timers, but it could take the full length in its slot. We immediately noticed how difficult it was to see the knob setting. I burned a few slices here and there experimenting. I have to set it to 1 and carefully watch otherwise it will burn my daughter’s mini bagel. Today I was the first to use the toaster on some fancy “white bread” slices. I set the knob exactly to 1 and waited patiently. The picture is the result of 1. It’s starting to burn on the edges and the bread has lost all moisture. This made me scratch my head a bit. If this is 1, what the hell do I need 2-7 for? Extra burnt, charred, and charcoal settings? Pros: Long slot Cons: Feels flimsy, worthless settings, no countdown indicator, burns half your bread, doesn’t absorb tears
