   Huge disappointment- after three uses chips have appeared on the bottom! I’ve had a set of Cuisinart over 25 years and wanted to replace the 5qt because after everyday use, the inside had become discolored and tended to stick on the bottom(but nowhere had it chipped). i don’t even know how the new piece came to be damaged- I used it on my white smooth top stove, of which I’m always careful not to scratch. Also, I hand washed it after use and stored in in a drawer that’s lined with a foam liner! I cannot believe the bottom edge has four chips already!! I’m sure it will be rusting soon. I’m thinking about how painful it would be to return, but it will probably happen. Bottom line: I’ll be treating my old, great quality dishes with kid gloves. Apparently they’re irreplaceable.

   This is my 3rd piece of cuisinart enameled cast iron cookware. I have the 7qt Dutch oven as well as the 12 inch chicken fryer. I absolutely LOVE these pots. They cook the food perfectly and they are so easy to clean. I literally use them 3-4 times a week for the past several months and they still look brand new like I just pulled them out of the box. I cant rave enough about them. I originally was considering Le Creuset but was having a hard time convincing myself to spend $300+ on one pot. So I figured I’d give cuisinart a try since it’s less than half the price and I’ve had good experience with some of their other products. I’m so glad I did. I can’t imagine what the more expensive brands can do that these can’t.
   If you are considering enameled cast iron I definitely recommend these.
   My only “con” that I could mention is I wish they had a bigger variety of colors. That was one of the things that attracted me to Le Creuset in the beginning. I’d love if Cuisinart came out with purple or yellow or lime green, or turquoise. But that’s certainly not enough of an issue for me not to buy more pieces.

   Cooking wise this casserole is just fine. It browns and braises as it should. It’s serviceable bargain alternative to the higher priced brands. The matte finish stained on the first use and I can’t get it clean. The cover finish also chipped in three places on its first use. My opinion is that there is a durability problem with the finish, as many reviewers have stated. It has a distressed, vintage look. All in all, I’d pick a plain cast iron dutch oven over this one, or spend the money on a Staub or Le Creuset with a glossy finish.

   I loved my fiends’ creuset Dutch oven but I could not justify the price. After comparing mine to theirs I am convinced the are equals. This is a high quality cooking essential. It is heavy which is great if you’re like me and forget to stir. Great value for the price and a kitchen staple that I use daily. I did make the mistake of dishwashing mine and it caused some rust around the edge, but I consider that user error.

   Product surface inside good but enamel on handles, lid and top edge have multiple chips with normal use. Started within one year of purchase in 2019, and just gets progressively worse. I have another brand cast iron enameled pot greater than 10 yr old that doesn’t have 1 chip on the outside after all these years. Will update after contacting company to determine if this falls under their limited lifetime warranty.

    I was so looking forward to receiving the pot(I also ordered the oval casserole). However, upon opening up the box the pot was already chipped. I am very disappointed in the durability and poor quality of this higher end brand. For the past two years I had been cooking with an emeral pot that I purchased from Sams. Not once did it ever chipped.

    This is a very nice product and works well but a word of caution, it is extremely heavy. I have arthritis so when it is full it is too heavy for me to carry. Hubby, who is a great cook, has taken ownership of it and loves it.

    This is a great dupe for the Le Creuset and Staub dutchovens and for 1/3 of the price! It meets all of the dutch oven needs. It is sturdy and heats evenly on the stove and the polished metal nob on the lid holds up to the heat in the oven. I also love the color and other color options! I highly recommend this if you are in the market for a dutch oven. Save your money on the high end Le Creuset or Staub.

    I specifically purchased this because the photo shows nice near straight sides with a small round at the bottom. Attached picture is what I got, it’s about as angled with large round similar to the old pot I wanted to replace. I suppose this is still a useful pot so I gave it 3 stars, but I wanted more cooking surface and the photo representation suggest that’s what I was getting.
