   This Cuisinart does a great job of chopping. But try to make shred carrots or cabbage, say for coleslaw, and it will disappoint you. When you install either shredding/slicing blade, you will notice a large gap, maybe 0.5 inches, between the edge of the blade and the edge of the bowl. As expected, when you run carrots or cabbage through the feeding tube and attempt to shred these, there are remnants that, in my old Cuisinart food processor, would remain on the top of the shredding blade. But in this food processor, those remnants get spun to the side of the blade and over into the bowl because of the large gap. So I end up having to sort through the shreds in the bowl to find the large pieces that did not get shredded. I’m attaching a photo showing all the large bits that ended up in the bowl of the Cuisinart after shredding about a pound of carrots. I had to sift through everything in the bowl to find and remove these, as I was making a carrot cake. These are fairly large pieces; the second photo shows their sizes compared to the shredding blade. I called Cuisinart customer support about this, and the rep I talked with offered to send me a new bowl. How that would fix the problem, I had no idea. I received the new bowl, and it is identical to the old bowl and has the same issues. The problem seems to be a serious design issue. The slicing blades that come with the 9-cup processor are the same ones used in the 7-cup processor. Perhaps they work better in the 7-cup processor, assuming that the diameter of the top of the bowl is smaller than for the 9 cup. Anyway, I’m very disappointed in my purchase, as well as in my interaction with Cuisinart customer support.

   I wish the instructions showed or explained better how to connect the top. Example: tilt the opposite side of the top until it fits in, then lower it onto the base.

   Who designed this AND did they actually try it?

   Looks great and shreds a bit if cabbage before it starts jamming up…at which point you are left with a very small and inadequate food processor.

   Easy design fixes (taller discharge chute and discharge fin taller than 1/16”) – too bad neither is part of this machine.

   Cabbage/beets/carrots/onions, the continuous discharge fails on everything we have tried it on.

    I have limited storage so this is a wonderful compact food processor. Well designed and easy to use and to clean. Not as powerful as the Cuisenart that I had for 37 years, but I would definitely recommend this one for lighter duty.

    Continuous feed spewed food all over the counter. It took more cleanup time than if I used a mandoline. By the way, I had the feed on “LOW” setting to minimize the mess. I attached manufacturers’s picture for comparison. Cuisinart should have a container configured to the feed chute.

    We bought this to replace the old Cuisinart Food Pressor that lasted over 10 years. This one didn’t even make it a month. The handle on the main work bowl broke off. I called Cuisinart, they are sending out a new bowl but it is gardening and canning season now. It will take 7 to 10 days to replace it. I am also not impressed with the Universal blade for chopping, mixing and dough. There is now only one blade to chop the veggies the other side is the dough blade. The shreddingg discs do not do as nice of job as the old machine either, the stem adapter is not sturdy enough to do a good job shredding cheese.
