Bought this as a Christmas gift to my mother in law who loves to fry chicken. And let’s just say she’s frying chicken in it every occasion. And the chicken is delicious. So it does it’s job

I have not used this to do a long term analysis, but this is a very nice quality skillet. The only problem is that it is significantly heavier that others that I have used. Nice quality. Heavy.

I’ve had this Cast-iron Chicken Skillet for several weeks and have cooked everything in them, but chicken (lamb stew, beef stew, chili (chicken and beef), I even grilled lamb chops! Today, I actually used to fry chicken! Having guests for dinner and decided to treat them. I never thought anything would be the 120yr old 10″ cast iron skillet that I already owned. It belonged to my grandmother, then came to me when I married 55 years ago as part of the set of 3 (the smallest cooks 1 perfect egg). I treasure them, keep them pristine, and though my daughter married almost 13 years ago, I bought her seasoned cast iron, I wasn’t giving up mine!
Well, this skillet is sensational! Cooks evenly to a perfect brown crust. Meat is tender and juicy. I think the best thing is the high sides! No grease splatter all over my stove! It’s one of the reasons I seldom make fried chicken, though my family requests it often. I just finished frying 2 whole chickens and there is a very tiny amount of grease on my stove, and it’s from the fork I used to turn the pieces!
This means my family will have fried chicken more often! My son-in-law will be a happy man!
