   This was bought as a birthday gift and was not opened until today. Unfortunatley the handle has been ground off on one section and is sharp on the edge. Disappointing. I wish I had caught it earlier and I would have returned it. Too bad qulaity control does not catch something that obvious.

   This is a well built lid from sturdy stainless steel, thick enough not to deform like similar lids being sold on cuisinartoutlets.com. However, the dealbreaker for me is that the stated size is wrong. The actual *inside* diameter of the lid is 12.5 inches, the exterior diameter (including the thickness of the rim) makes this lid actually 12.75” across. I bought this specifically to cover a pan so that I can add enough clearance to steam food. I needed the lid to be exactly 12.25” for it to fit my pan properly. This lid is not 12.25”, so it ended up not fitting my pan 🙁

    I’ll start with my only and minor dislike. Some has a very sticky tag on it and it is tough to get off the dome. No points deducted just be aware of it goo gone took care of it for me. The good stuff the size is right it’s bigger than most of the domes but not too big. 9” dome would be too small. You absolutely need this if you plan on melting cheese or cooking vegetables. Build quality feels good, not too light and not too heavy.

    Very nice and well made dome. I had the 9″ but it wasn’t big enough for larger recipes. Now I can cook for a crowd and melt the cheese on all the eggs at the same time! It’s also great for popping corn on the griddle. Definitely recommend!
