Cusinart took their previous model of this coffee maker and made it better! The burr grinder is critical for great tasting coffee and now it’s self cleaning! Brilliant!
This is my third Cusinart grind and brew coffee maker and they keep making them better. It’s used daily and I get about 12 to 15 years out of a unit. That’s pretty reasonable considering so many products are junk these days.
Highly recommended!

So it can make a very good tasting cup of coffee but there are a lot of these out there. The most annoying thing is that the clock runs really fast so it’s completely useless to make a timed brew in the morning. It gains about an hour a week. As mentioned, the grinder is loud and can be heard while sleeping upstairs but its a grinder so it gets a pass. It has a really nice looking stainless pot that seems like it would keep the coffee warm, it doesn’t really. I dont know why in this age of vacuum sealed beverage cups they can’t make a decent one. Not only that but it makes a total mess when you try to pour it and it’s really hard to get all the coffee out. Pretty sure there must be a better option out there.

I’m not as much of a coffee aficionado as other people, so the coffee maker itself is good for me.
I can use either ground coffee or whole beans, and the adjustments work well enough for my needs. The coffee maker seems well built and good quality, although time will tell on this.
However, the thermal carafe it came with is terrible. It spills nearly every single time no matter how slow and careful I pour it. It got to be so annoying I started taking the top off every time I pour with it. This is disappointing and an extra cost since I now have to get a replacement carafe.

This DGB-850 does grind and brew coffee – so 3 stars for that! However, there are multiple design issues:
1) the coffeepot drips on the countertop. The solution is to first tip the pot back towards the handle to get all the liquid to go into the pot and then pour over the sink because otherwise you will be wiping up the mess on the counter.
2) the basket holding a coffee filter is not large enough. This results in coffee grounds getting into the brewed coffee. This happens when I brew 6 cups so it would be way too small to brew 8 cups.
3) a more minor issue is that the water tank is in the back and therefore if the machine is stored under a cabinet, it must be pulled completely out in order to fill the water tank

Easy to use and clean, special-run white model that looks good in ubiquitous all-white kitchens. Did not find this model anywhere else. Hopper is sealed to keep beans reasonably fresh. Easily adjustable to yield desired strength of coffee. Only drawback is grind is set to coarse-medium grind degree that produces slightly under-extracted coffee. I believe this can be adjusted, but will require a call to Cuisinart support or possibly youtube. Will likely void warranty but at this price point, it seems of little consequence. The grinder isn’t the loudest I’ve heard but does terrify the cats at first. They will get used to it. It’s lovely to wake up to the sound of my coffee being prepared for me. Very happy with this purchase; would buy again in a heart beat.

I loved this coffee maker at my cottage all summer. Bought a second one for home and ditched a different brand of bean to brew maker that never worked as well. Flavour is always perfect.
