This product is the quality of what you’d buy at the dollar store! The first time out we tried to slice a sweet potato. It was so hard to slice the sweet potato that the holder broke!!

Contrary to other reviews, I have had this for about 10 years and love it.
Use it frequently and have never had any problems. Would recommend
It and have, to many people.

Finely crafted piece of equipment for the kitchen. Great for making scalloped potatoes in just minutes or shreding carrots and beets for borchest. Uniform slices are easy for pickles and french fries all come out the same dimensions, better than cutting with a knife! Coleslaw is a breeze.

Inadequate instruction book is all.
You DO NOT use the hand guard/pusher until potato or onion, etc. is reduced in size. To reduce in size simply manually swipe the vegetable, back and forth, by hand, then use the guard/pusher to finish. Remember, the main slicing blade is already installed and is reversible. The three additional small blades, in the box, are strictly for Julienning. (Which I don’t bother with)
The guard/pusher will not hold a round potato or onion, etc as they’re too wobbly. How hard is that to figure out rather than complaining?
Used correctly, it will produce a ton of veggies, safely and quickly. Tah, Dah

Would not slice sweet potatoes as the cutting blade is not sharp enough. Adjustment of opening does not stay the same while cutting carrots. Pretty poor product for the price. Only positive factor is that it is easy to clean because of the use of stainless steel components.

I’ve had my Cuisinart Mandolin Slicer for about 5 years – I use it almost daily, it is completely and totally awesome. I mostly use it for onions, you can have a big onion sliced into the thinnest slices in seconds, no eyes burning cause its so fast. I can put a knife to the onion slices and chop into the tiniest of pieces in no time at all if needed. For that alone, I would buy this thing – in fact, I’m on here to buy a 2nd one for my boyfriend’s house and a 3rd for my dad’s house because I’m sick of having to slice and chop onions the old-fashioned way on my visits! This item has saved me a lot of time and effort over the years, if you like onions you cannot live without this. I also use it for bell peppers, zucchini, squash, cucumbers, and tomatoes routinely. Tough vegetables, like carrots and potatoes, are considerable effort so if that’s what you want it for, you may be disappointed. Otherwise, this is a must have item in the kitchen as far as I’m concerned.

The first time I used this thing I was scared I would cut the end of my finger off. And I could barely get the veggie to go through the slicer. However, I decided to give it a second try a month later and it went quite well. Not sure if I was too unsure of using it before or what. I still respect its very sharp blade. But I am getting along much better with it.

The product was great. However cuisinartoutlets.coms charging for services you don’t know about and not giving them to you makes me say if you buy from cuisinartoutlets.com be very carful or they will get you also. When you do complain it take days to get your money back. Its a shame cuisinartoutlets.com has resorted to this I have bought from them before but not again.
