   The percolator itself is great! We’ve had ours for years. But Cuisinart definitely needs to redesign the lid. I purchased our percolator in 2017 directly from Cuisinart. It works great, however the plastic knob broke off the lid after only about a year. I discovered I couldn’t just purchase the plastic knob that broke, even though the rest of the lid was fine. So in 2018 I had to purchase the entire lid (back then it was $30 plus shipping from Cuisinart ) as a replacement. I decided I was not going to use the plastic knob to pull off the lid anymore, so for 3 years I gently pried off the lid with my fingers by pushing the metal lid up from where it fits into the pot, and I stopped putting it in the dishwasher and washed it by hand. In 2021, even though I had been very, very careful, the replacement lid broke in the same manner–the plastic knob broke off of the lid. Went back to the Cuisinart website and purchased a second replacement lid, fortunately the price hadn’t gone up. Lo and behold just a few days ago, July 15, 2024, you guessed it! The plastic knob broke off again same way, the plastic knob! I like the coffee maker so much I went ahead and purchased THIRD lid, this time from cuisinartoutlets.com because it was a little less expensive but nevertheless the price has increased. Even though I really, really like this percolator, if this lid breaks I’ll have to get a different brand of percolator, preferably with a replaceable GLASS knob! If you are considering purchasing this Cuisinart percolator, be prepared to purchase a new lid every 2 or 3 years at a cost of $35. You might also consider brewing very expensive coffee to keep things in perspective.

   Kinda overpriced especially when you only need the plastic top. They should sell the plastic piece by itself for like $5-$10. It’s a bummer when it breaks. For the $40 it cost you could almost buy a new coffee pot in a different brand of the same quality.

   This is our second percolator cover to break in less than one year. The plastic knob at the top is fragile and breaks at the base. The cover is half the cost of the percolator and will fail. Poor design, poor quality cover.

   Just received this lid for our coffee pot and the lid was bent and the knob broken. This part cost half the price of the total coffee pot did. Very disappointing.

   The little plastic top broke off because that’s what I used to take the lid off with. Now I pull off the lid from a different spot so it won’t happen again. Lesson learned.

   My Cuisinart percolator lid had come apart and I needed a new one. Because I didn’t want to throw away the entire machine, I ordered the lid and it came quickly and fits perfectly. I can continue using my percolator. The cost of a new one would have been four or five times more than what the lid itself cost and I would highly recommend it. It’s snug and fits like the original lid did.

    The design on this lid is terrible. The top is plastic and corrodes from inside the lid. I’ve had two and neither has lasted longer than 14 months. Replacement lid is more than half the cost of a new percolator.

    Perfect fit for the original, sadly. I’m on my THIRD lid for this percolator. The clear plastic top has cracked on both and I fully expect the new one to crack in the exact same place in about 2-3 years. It’s a design flaw I’m trying to get around by purchasing the “55700 Fitz-All Replacement Percolator Top, Glass” as I have one of the old lids still around. I’ll post here with details either way. The percolator is great otherwise. The Fitz-All lid worked! see pictures of this new one and the fitz-all installed in the old one.

    The plastic cap on the cover of our percolated broke off. I looked to just replace that knob, but could not find one which stated it would specifically fit our particular coffee maker. This cover is an exact replacement part. It’s perfect, however, I think very expensive for just a cover. The alternative was to buy a new coffee pot which would have been more than twice the cost of the cover. I just hope our pot holds out as long as the new cover now. My big complaint would be that The company really should make just the plastic knob available since that is what is what is most likely prone to break.
