   This same model number unfortunately has been modified slightly, so the clips on it won’t fit on your machine if you’ve had it a long time.

   I give this only 4 stars because it is my 3rd top piece for my Cuisinart food processor. When I bought the processor a few years ago, I thought Cuisinart would be a more reliable product than the cheaper processors I had before. It has lasted longer than any of them. The design of the clip that connects the top and bottom bowl is flimsy and breaks which has resulted in my replacing it numerous times. I use my processor about once every 2 weeks and have had to replace the top about every 2 years. While I think the motor unit is good quality, I can’t say the same for the plastic pieces. The top insert piece is also very hard to clean the little nooks on either side of the food loading tube. It seems the whole top could be redesigned to work better. At least the replacement parts are still available.

   AFter I got it, I discovered that the problem I had was with the bowl and not the lid. The cover looked exactly like my old one and I have no reason to doubt its efficiency.

   This was supposed to fit my unit but when I got it, it was clear it would not fit any unit. The part that attaches was too close to the center (see photos of real piece and this piece). It is very clear these must have been rejected by Cuisanart as they are definitely made by them, but something went wrong on manufacturing. This company has to know their are rejects as it is very clear that a novice can see this by the photos, they are just off enough that there is jo way to lock it or even get to the locked position. Very bummed as I had high hopes.

   I checked all the images and part numbers carefully and am thrilled that this part is the perfect replacement for my Cuisinart container cover. The feed tube pusher fits as expected and the motor activates as it should with the lid in place. I bought this to replace the original because the small plastic locking part had snapped off after many years of use. Easy glue held it in place for a few months but it was only a temporary fix. I assume all negative e reviews are from buyers who bought the wrong item for their specific model. This fits like the OEM container cover.

   Turns out you can buy replacement parts directly from Cuisinart. I feel like an idiot for not realizing that. This does not fit the bowl from the manufacturer, so now I’m either going to order a new lid from the manufacturer or I’m going to order a new bowl from this same company so they will fit. Kind of a bummer and waste of money. The lid itself is of high quality, just seems useless to get my food processor working again.
