   I’ve had these ice trays for a year and a half. I’ve liked them for the most part. Having a lid is great and the ice usually comes out easily. But about six months ago the lining on the tray has started to peel off. It gets stuck inside the ice. It makes it extremely difficult to remove the ice when the happens. I’ve found pieces of plastic in my water multiple times. I really thought it would last longer then a year.

   I love these ice trays. Sometimes I overfill and it’s difficult to remove the lid. Running water over it solves that. Ice cubes are really easy to remove onto the upside down lid with a twist of the tray.

   I am updating my review; I downgraded from 3 stars to 1 star. I added 2 photos. 1 of the undersides of the lids. The other is all the broken ice you will accumulate after just two batches of ice from four trays. These are not as great as everyone says. Not any easier to release/twist than any other ice cube tray’s I’ve had, although the lil “handles” give you a better grip to twist. Makes smaller cubes than regular trays as well. I bought these based on all the great reviews because I have arthritis. I’m very disappointed to say the least. ALSO…. It’s more work because the inside of the lids build up ice (I’ve tried everything to stop it) but you just have to rinse & dry them EVERY time you make ice!!! I did like the thought of the lids and I didn’t spill water using these lids which was helpful. So in my opinion these are not worth it. OXO has great products but this is not one of them. I spent $24.00 for 4 ice cube trays and it was a waste. I will be going to buy some cheap ones at Walmart & wont have to worry about the covers anymore.

   Does what it says on the tin. Makes ice, easy to fill and get out. Stacks well in the freezer and most crucially doesn’t make your ice taste weird because it isn’t made of silicone

   Not thrilled with these ice trays, first the lid is not air tight and second you spill the water all over the place trying to get them in the freezer.

   This product is defective. The lid will not slide off even if you follow every recommendation given. It is basically junk. Highly recommend you save your money. Did not want to give one star but had to to submit my review. On its way back today!

   These OXO Good Grips Ice Cube Trays are a fantastic. The lids seal easily, so I can stack them in the freezer without spills or awkward tilting. The trays are sturdy yet flexible enough to pop the cubes out effortlessly—no more twisting or banging. I also love the thoughtful design of the grips; they’re comfortable and practical. The cubes come out uniform and clean every time. Worth every penny for quality and convenience. Highly recommend!

    I have now tried several kinds of ice cube trays including silicon. The OXO was a last-ditch effort to find a system that would allow me to walk across the kitchen with a full tray of water and not spill it on the floor or all over the freezer when placing a tray inside. The OXO tray covers stabilize the tray, reduce sloshing and makes transporting it to the freezer enormously easier. The trays also have curved cube bottoms. If a section of ice does not quickly release, just touch the edge of a cube and the ice pops free. I store a supply of ice cubes in a large covered container. The ice does not degrade as quickly… holds its original size for quite a long time. The OXO units have saved me time and frustration. And reduced my use of colorful language.

    I am a fan of Oxo products as I have found that they usually work well and are well made. No exception for these covered ice cube trays. I really did not think that covered ice cube trays were very necessary to keep freezer smells out because I use ice daily, but thought what the heck! It did, surprisingly, take me a day to use them to max efficiency….ie best water level etc. The ice cubes slide out easily- which was my one big ‘want’ in an ice cube tray. The big surprise – which is of esthetic value only- is that the ice cubes are 80-90% more clear than that in my old, uncovered trays. Not crystal clear, but m u c h more clear. I like these ice trays very well and am glad that I chose them!
